Dance photography – New Jersey & NYC, New York. Perhaps the thing that I love most about photographing dancers, is that you get to capture that sublime intersection between elegance and sheer athletic power. Specializing as a portrait photographer, I also photograph dancers and ballerinas on location in New York, or also in my photo studio in northern New Jersey.

You have put in so much hard work in your art as a dancer and as ballerina – you deserve the best photographs that preserve that fleeting movement. The aim is to capture any dancer’s movements with photos that show their gracefulness, and their movement and balance and poise.

We can work in the studio — my studio is in Fairfield, NJ — or we can work outdoors on location. The photos on this page features dancers on location in New York, both in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The vibrancy of New York City makes for interesting and dynamic urban backdrops to the dynamic poses and movements of the dancers. I love the juxtaposition of the elegance of a dancer against an urban landscape as a background.

I have favorite spots that I know will show some of New York’s sites, but I am always open to ideas. This becomes a collaboration between dancer and photographer. The intent with our photo session, is to get the captivating portraits you want.
